36 Hours in NYC: Dreams, Rituals, and a Room Full of Visionary Women

Dear Reader,

Earlier this month, I returned to New York City—my hometown—for what turned out to be one of the most inspiring 36 hours I've had in a long time.

I was invited by Emily, a brilliant business strategist and mentor for women, to lead a segment during her private mastermind retreat for female founders and entrepreneurs. These women were gathered to dream big, expand, and take bold steps toward what’s next. My offering? A 20-minute sanctuary of movement, breath, and sound titled: “Manifesting Your Heart’s Desire – The 20 Minute Miracle.”

We didn’t roll out mats or dim the lights—we sat at tables, in chairs, and moved through five simple yet potent movements designed to awaken clarity, courage, and the power of desire. With soft sound woven between each gesture, the room quieted. And something sacred took shape.

It reminded me of something we often forget as women: We are strong. We are wise. And we’ve always known what we need.

Those 36 hours were full of beauty and reflection. I found tiny cafés tucked into flower-lined streets, had a quiet facial at Mario Badescu (a tradition since I was 18), and later cheered for a dear friend and teacher, as she was honored with the Women in the Arts Healing Award. It was full-circle magic: yoga, healing, sound, sisterhood, and celebration.

One morning, I passed by the Fashion Institute of Technology on 27th Street—where I studied all those years ago. The building looked just the same. And in that moment, I realized that every part of the journey matters. Every version of ourselves—past and present—has something to teach.

This time in NYC confirmed something for me:

✨ We all need space to pause, be seen, and reconnect with what’s sacred.
✨ We need stillness to remember who we really are.

That’s what I’m cultivating inside Stillpoint Sanctuary, my online membership space—a gentle place for rest, ritual, and real conversations. And for those feeling the pull toward a deeper path, I currently have one spot open for a one-on-one virtual client. If you're navigating a transition and craving care that meets you exactly where you are, I’d love to work with you.

And something new is whispering on the horizon…

I’m dreaming of an in-person gathering—movement, conversations, shared meals, and cultural exploration. Nothing formal yet, but the seed has been planted.

For now, I invite you to join me where it all begins:

A pause.

A breath.

A return to what matters.

With love from NYC and beyond,
Sarah

Dear Reader, We’re officially in the heart of summer, which means it’s that sweet, sun-drenched stretch of long days and shifting rhythms. While this season often feels fast and full, I’m choosing something quieter this year: a family getaway tucked in the trees, space to unplug, and a little extra intention behind the scenes as I prepare for a mini-sabbatical in August. (Yes, big things are coming, including a new name, new website, and refreshed offerings I can’t wait to share.) But for...

Hi Reader, Let’s talk about one of my favorite restorative poses of all time: Viparita Karani — Elevated Legs Up the Wall You don’t need to be a seasoned yogi to practice this pose. You don’t even need a mat.Just a wall (or a chair, or a bench) and a few quiet minutes. That’s right — four. ✨ Butterfly Pose — soles of the feet together, knees wide✨ Wide-Leg Forward Fold — legs open in a relaxed “V”✨ Reverse Child’s Pose — hug your knees...
