A Simple Practice to Bring You Home to Yourself

Hi Reader,

In this month’s newsletter I shared a short video with three of my favorite cooling, restorative poses:

  • Bound Angle Pose
  • Legs Up the Wall
  • Savasana

These are simple, flexible postures—you can stay in them for just a few minutes or linger for 10–15 minutes when you have the time.

I love them because they invite surrender.

When we’re constantly giving to everyone else, we can lose sight of our own needs—and even forget parts of who we are. With a supportive practice that balances our emotions and softens our body, we remember.

We remember all of who we are.
We remember the “she” who lives inside—beneath the roles, the responsibilities, and the noise.

When you awaken to her, you begin to understand her. And in that moment, you come home to yourself.

These three poses are a pathway home:

🌿 Bound Angle Pose – Soothes the hips, opens the heart, and can be done with a bolster, pillow, or simply lying back. Perfect in the morning before your first sip of tea or coffee, or as a gentle travel companion.

🌿 Legs Up the Wall – A cooling inversion that helps you see life from a new perspective. All you need is a soft pillow for your head. It’s perfect after long days, long drives, or long flights.

🌿 Savasana – The art of “doing nothing” that gives so much back. Try it before you start your day and you may be surprised—it offers a different kind of rest than nighttime sleep, a deep, conscious stillness.

Even 10 minutes—morning or evening—can shift your entire day.

Your nervous system settles, your mind clears, and when calm, everything moves with more ease. You become fully present—whether at your desk, with friends, or simply with yourself.

Here’s your reminder: you don’t need to wait for a retreat or a free afternoon to find balance. You can begin now, right where you are.

With ease and presence,

Hi Reader, This week I had a dream: Oprah came to my home for lunch. She asked me for a cup of tea. I searched and searched opening cupboards, getting distracted, trying to find the perfect tea to serve. But when I came back, still empty-handed, she was sitting with two children simply teaching them how to be with others. And I realized, she never came for the tea. She came for presence. So many of us live in this cycle: 👉 Always searching, trying to get it “right.” 👉 Feeling scattered,...

Hi Reader, Last week I shared about the eclipse season. These next weeks are powerful for endings and beginnings, and why this is the moment to commit to yourself. And now, here we are, back-to-school schedules, shifting routines, the to-do list pulling in every direction. It can feel overwhelming, like your nervous system is stuck in overdrive. The truth is; when we try to control everything, it’s only a false sense of “holding it all together.” What’s really underneath is anxiety in...
