Dear Reader,
The end of summer can feel like a collision of calendars with back-to-school energy, packed inboxes, and shifting routines. Still, I believe that if you pause for just a moment, you’ll see that there’s still so much summer left.
To me, August is a month of transition, not abrupt endings. And just like we prep our gardens in spring, we can prepare ourselves for the season ahead with the same kind of care. That’s the energy I’m carrying into August: not rushing forward, but creating space to reflect, reset, and realign so that as routines pick up, I’m not swept away by them.

Burnout to Balance
I’m excited to share that I was recently featured in a news article that was picked up by FOX, NBC, CBS, ABC, and more. The article, Burnout to Balance: Sarah Khan Guides Women Back to Wellness with Restorative Yoga and Health Coaching, explores the transformative experience many women have when working one-on-one with a wellness practitioner who blends yoga, meditation, Reiki, and sound healing.
I had the pleasure of sharing a bit of my own career and wellness journey, the work I do to support high achievers who often push rest to the bottom of their to-do lists, and my mission to help these women slow down and create a sanctuary where their minds and bodies can be restored..
A Moment to Reflect
As you ease back into work, school, or your post-summer routine, I invite you to give yourself a little pause to schedule intentional time for yourself in your calendar. We’re so good at organizing our tasks and travel and family activities. But what about our energy? Our joy? Our daily well-being?
Here are a few reflection questions I’ve pulled together for you to guide your transition into the next season:
- What do I want more of this fall?
- What routines or rituals keep me grounded when things get busy?
- What books do I want to read before the year ends?
- What do I want to eat, wear, and move like as the season shifts?
- Who brings me joy, and who might I need to gently take space from?
- How do I want to feel when I wake up each morning?
Take a few minutes sometime this week to sit with one or two of these prompts. Pour yourself a cool drink and let the sun hit your face. Relax your shoulders and take a deep breath. Let your pen move. You might be surprised what comes up.
Simple Restoration Flow
When I was planning my summer newsletters, I knew I wanted to end the season with a restorative flow to provide support during the flurry of activities that always accompany the month of August. You can do a single cycle of these three simple poses if you need a quick minute of rest, or you can set aside ten minutes to flow through the cycle a few times.
1. Reclined bound angle pose (supta baddha konasana)
2. Legs up the wall (viparita karani)
3. Savasana

What I’m Reading
Pinkola Estés. This book was recommended to me so many times, and so far, it’s entirely lived up to the praise it’s received.
Chapter 9, Homing: Returning to Oneself, has already touched something deep in me. Estés writes about the instinct to return to the place inside ourselves where we feel whole—where our thoughts and feelings can exist without being interrupted, pushed aside, or torn away. She reminds us that no matter how far we’ve wandered, we always know the way home.
This returning is at the heart of what I share in my work, guiding you back to that quiet center through yoga, Reiki, and sound. I help my clients realize that you can reconnect with the part of yourself that’s always been there, steady and whole.
If you’ve been feeling stretched thin or pulled in too many directions, this is your reminder that home is still within you. You haven’t lost it.

Final Thoughts
The most powerful thing we can do during seasonal transitions isn’t to hustle into something new but to listen. Listen to what your body needs. To what your soul is asking for. To the rhythms shifting all around you and within you. The leaves aren’t changing just yet. There’s still time to soak in the sun, sit in the stillness, and set the tone for the season ahead.
With warmth and gratitude,
Sarah
