Hello Reader,
It’s easy to think of November as a month of preparation. The countdown to the holidays begins as we settle into the closing stretch of the year and the mental (and physical) sprint to get it all done starts filling up our to-do lists.
But what if November could be something else entirely? What if it could be a chance to return to yourself, your rhythm, and your voice?
This month, I’m giving myself full permission to do more of what I love — even if it doesn’t make perfect logistical sense on paper. I took a spontaneous trip to visit a friend in Nassau. I’m back in voice lessons (yes, again). I’ve even started chanting during sessions, weaving my voice into the work I do with clients. It’s vulnerable. It’s a little scary. But it feels like coming home.
Maybe that’s your invitation too. To soften before the sprint. To remember that joy, like rest, is a practice.

A Getaway, and a Grounding
In October, I hopped on a plane to Nassau, Bahamas, to visit a close friend. I often travel for retreats or workshops, but this trip was just for a breath of warm air and sunshine before winter sets in.
Sometimes the most meaningful ideas arrive when we stop planning and start listening.
Something unexpected began to unfold a vision for our first Restored by Donna Sarah Retreat. It wasn’t planned or strategic; it came with ease, and quiet reflection.
As I wandered the beaches, explored the local markets, and even stopped by a charming rum cake bakery, I felt it—this is where the next season of restoration begins.

If that sounds like what your soul’s been asking for, submit this form to join the waitlist and be first to receive updates.
Here’s what I was reminded of: not everyone can book a plane ticket, but we can all create space for something that feels like a getaway. A long walk in the afternoon. A quiet cup of tea with no email tab open. A 10-minute Savasana in the middle of the day.
This season, I invite you to make time for presence in the midst of the preparation.

What I’m Reading
I’ve always admired Elizabeth Gilbert’s ability to meet her readers with compassion, clarity, and soul.
This new collection is no different. In fact, when skimming this book to decide whether to add it to my reading list, a passage in the opening chapter about grief, creativity, and the river of life that carries us whether we’re ready or not stopped me in my tracks.
If you’ve been craving something thoughtful and true to curl up with this fall, I highly recommend picking up a copy of this book!

Final Thoughts
As we step into the season of giving and gathering, I hope you remember this:
You are allowed to receive.
You are allowed to rest.
You are allowed to return to yourself — over and over again.
Whether it’s in a chant, a trip, a breath, or a moment of quiet, I hope you find your way back.
With warmth and gratitude,
Sarah
