Tiny resets for a busy month

Hello Reader,

December asks a lot of us. More commitments. More travel. More movement. More emotions. More everything.

Which is why this month, I’m practicing focusing on the pause between things.

This could be a moment to breathe before I click into the next tab, a stretch after I close my laptop, or a deep breath before another conversation, another errand, another batch of holiday baking, another task.

These tiny rituals are what I call Yoga Snacks — nourishing, doable moments of movement, stillness, and reset. Not a full practice. Just a pause that helps you come back to yourself. More about how to incorporate Yoga Snacks into your day below!

Yoga Snacks and the art of the in-between

Let’s talk about those little moments that happen between the big things. You know, the pause between end-of-year meetings and your grocery pickup, between wrapping gifts and welcoming family, between long car rides and checking in to your holiday destination, between the you that’s rushing…and the you that’s quietly waiting underneath.

I know I’ve shared how impactful a few moments of quiet breathing and meditation can be in calming your nervous system and grounding you between activities or before you go to bed, but these micro moments, or Yoga Snacks, as I’ve recently started calling them, are the tiny habit that will keep you from feeling completely overwhelmed this holiday season.

Here are a few of my favorite Yoga Snacks I encourage you to try:

  1. A 4-part breath cycle (inhale-hold-exhale-hold) for five rounds. Do this at your desk, between clients, or after you’ve put the kids to bed.
  2. Take a walk outside — even just to the mailbox and back. Let cold air hit your face. Let the moment mark a transition.
  3. Sink into a song without multitasking. Press play on your favorite playlist and do nothing but close your eyes, breathe, and focus on the lyrics until it’s done.
  4. Stand up and stretch. No flow, no choreography. Just let your body move. Shake your hands. Roll your shoulders. See what happens.

You don’t have to change your whole day. Just change your position.

Your breath will meet you there.

For the woman who has a few extra minutes for self-care between holiday activities

If you’ve tried Yoga Snacks and thought, Huh, this is really working! or accidentally turned the snack into a longer stretch or meditative session and are looking for more, I’ve put together a FREE 10-minute reset that’s perfect for times when you have a few extra minutes to slip away.

You’ll experience:

✨ Breathing techniques to calm your nervous system

✨ Gentle movement to release physical tension

✨ A moment of stillness to restore your focus and energy

We all lead full lives — especially this time of year — so whether you’re at home, at work, visiting family, making holiday memories with loved ones, or somewhere in between, this mini-practice helps you reclaim your calm and reset your day. No mat, no pressure, just 10 minutes for you.

What I’m Reading

The book I have sitting on my nightstand this month is The Enneagram: A Christian Perspective by Richard Rohr.

I’ve studied the Enneagram for years, but this book feels like coming home. It’s not just about types or traits; it’s about healing, unraveling, and reconnecting with your essence beneath the ego.

If you’ve ever wondered why you react the way you do, how to make peace with your inner critic, or how to grow toward wholeness instead of perfection, this is the book I’d recommend.

Final Thoughts

If December feels full, remember to lean into those quiet, tiny moments between activities. Take time to give yourself an intentional reprieve from the hustle and bustle by leaning into the stillness in the in-between.

All that takes is a breath, a stretch, a step outside, or a song that makes you remember who you are. In this season, let the pauses be sacred. And let the in-between be enough.

With warmth and gratitude,
